Job Purpose: This position will Perform accounting functions related to, but not limited to account receivable, and account reconciliations. The successful employee will be self-motivated and take the initiative to ask questions to increase efficiencies. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy are critical.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable Functions
- Daily/Monthly processing of credit card payments from customers and maintaining receipts and reporting
- Daily remote bank deposits
- Record cash receipts for all Locations
- Respond to customer account inquiries (reprint invoices, email or fax invoices and statements)
- Collection of past due customer accounts
- Maintain detailed records of communication and collection efforts.
- Investigate and resolve open issues and credits.
- Back up for billing NWGF Division
General Accounting/Administration Functions
- Assist in month-end closing
- Prepare/Perform month end account reconciliations, write-offs, adjustments, and other tasks as assigned
- Process outgoing mail
- Work collaboratively with the accounting team to ensure that day-to-day accounting objectives are achieved.
- Identify opportunities to change and improve the accounting processes.
- Maintain appropriate file retention (both paper and electronic) over the fiscal year so, at the audit time, supporting documentation can be gathered quickly.
- Assist with preparation of annual audit workpapers.
- Update policies and procedures as new efficiencies are established
- Develop and maintain processes and procedures both accounting and administratively that support the office in terms of internal controls and ethical business practices.
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Two-year degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent
- Salary ranges between $55,000 – $60,000.
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures is required
- Some accounting background or experience a plus
- Accounts Receivable and Collections experience required
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Excel and Word
- Must have strong communication and analytical skills, and a professional telephone/email manner
- Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with all stakeholders
- Personal and professional integrity of the highest order
- Self-driven and able to work independently
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
