The CNC Technician / Machine Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment at NWGF.

Job Purpose:

The CNC Technician / machine mechanic will conduct routine, periodic or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.  They will have an extensive understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics to effectively detect and resolve issues with electrical and mechanical components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Familiar with hand-held tools such as drills; Able to operate drill press, welder, mill, and planes.
  • Blueprint reading, basic shop math, schematic reading; Familiar with metric and English systems
  • Good manual dexterity with ability to maintain close tolerances.
  • Capable of using a variety of manufacturing tools and measuring devices
  • Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others.
  • Purchases supplies, equipment, and materials necessary to complete projects.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulics, electronics, and software, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Use machine tool manuals, technical documents, internal and vendor resources to research machine issues. Ability to troubleshoot resourcefully with minimal product support.
  • Diagnose and repair problems.
  • Identify and replace parts as necessary.
  • Test and make adjustments.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
